Mr David Proud is a General Surgeon who specialises in colorectal surgery. He received his Medical Degree from Monash University and trained in General Surgery at Alfred Health.
Mr Proud is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a member of the Colorectal Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ).
After completing his Australian training, Mr Proud undertook prestigious international fellowships in Colorectal Surgery at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin and at Austin Health, before joining the Colorectal Surgery department as a consultant surgeon.
Aside from his public hospital appointment, Mr Proud consults and operates at Epworth Richmond, Warringal Private Hospital and The Avenue Private Hospital. His areas of interest include colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and minimally invasive surgery.
Mr Proud is an active researcher, having published many international papers and presenting regularly at conferences. He participates in the training and supervision of surgical trainees and medical students.
