Mr David Love is an accomplished orthopaedic trauma and lower limb surgeon. Mr Love is currently engaged in active clinical practice at Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he is one of the on-call orthopaedic trauma surgeons, and at Epworth Hospital. Dr Love specialises in lower limb surgery and reconstruction, including the use of frames and complex lower limb reconstruction techniques for post-traumatic deformities. This is in addition to joint replacement and complex arthroplasty of the hip and knee.
Mr Love completed his fellowship training with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2009, and subsequently worked as a full-time trauma surgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital. He then undertook subspecialty training in complex joint replacement in Canada before returning to Australia to gain further expertise, completing fellowships in knee surgery and limb reconstruction surgery.
In conjuction with his clinical practice, Mr David Love is a faculty member of the AO, and is actively involved in teaching trauma surgery to orthopaedic surgeons.
Mr David Love has extensive medicolegal experience, and regularly provides opinions for TAC, WorkSafe and other entities. Mr Love is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, transport accidents, public liability matters, total permanent disability and medical negligence claims. Mr Love is available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
