Dr Edmund Ek graduated from Monash University Medical School with First Class Honours in 2003. During his medical degree, he was the recipient of numerous academic prizes and achievement awards, and graduated as the top student of his graduating class, and subsequently during surgical training received the Gordon-Taylor Prize for the highest mark in his exams.
Dr Ek began his plastic surgical training after one year of Advanced General Surgical Training, during which time he trained at all of Melbourne’s major Plastic Surgery centres, including The Alfred, the Royal Melbourne and the Royal Children's Hospitals.
Since completing his Fellowship Training, Dr Edmund Ek has established himself as a highly proficient and reputable reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeon with a major focus on breast surgery. With his reconstructive background, Dr Ek has developed a large practice in revision breast surgery, assessing and managing complicated breast issues following previous surgery.
He holds a public hospital appointment at The Alfred Hospital. He is also tenured at the University of Melbourne as a Senior Lecturer for the Faculty of Medicine, participating in medical student teaching, research and course development.
Dr Ek is available to perform file reviews, telehealth assessments and workplace assessments.
