Dr Brook Burchgart is an Australian fellowship-trained psychiatrist located on the Gold Coast, servicing both Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Dr Burchgart specialises in addiction, chronic pain and dual diagnosis services.
Dr Burchgart graduated as an occupational therapist in 2000, specialising in mental health rehabilitation within forensic mental health and early intervention psychosis services. Deciding to continue medical training, Dr Burchgart graduated from medicine with distinction in 2011. Her fellowship training took her to New South Wales, training in metropolitan hospitals, and then finally she relocated to the Gold Coast and was awarded her fellowship in 2019.
Dr Burchgart is actively involved in research and has presented on topics relating to opioid prescribing in patients with comorbid physical and psychiatric conditions.
Dr Burchgart is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, transport accidents, total permanent disability and medical negligence claims. She is also available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
