A/Professor Ilan Rauchberger is a Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive expertise in general adult psychiatry. He has a special interest in psychosis disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and adjustment disorders.
Completing his undergraduate medical studies at Monash University, A/Professor Rauchberger went on to complete a Masters of Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne. In 2009 A/Professor Rauchberger became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.
Throughout his career A/Professor Rauchberger has worked within private and public mental health. He is currently the Head of Acute Psychiatry at the Alfred Hospital and Director of the Alfred Psychiatric Intensive Care Statewide Services. A/Professor Rauchberger also has private consulting rooms at Albert Road Clinic. He is also a member of the Psychiatry Quality Committee, Restrictive Intervention Committee and Psychiatry Executive Committee at the Alfred Hospital.
A/Professor Rauchberger is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Swinburne University and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer (Practice) at Monash University.
A/Professor Rauchberger is a keen sportsman, especially basketball and has even represented Australia and Victoria in graded basketball competitions.
