Ms Namrata Anavekar is a qualified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She obtained her medical degree at Monash University and graduated with honours. Ms Anavekar then obtained a position on the Plastic Surgical training program within Victoria, which has held her in good stead for her career.
During her surgical training, which included rotations through St Vincent’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s, The Alfred and The Austin, Ms Anavekar gained extensive experience in the full spectrum of plastic surgical procedures. Upon completion of her training, Ms Anavekar undertook an overseas fellowship in both Switzerland and France. This was directed at gaining further experience and a broader perspective in the fields of maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery, rhinoplasty and aesthetic surgery.
During this time, she had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned surgeons, including Pr Bernard Devauchelle and Pr Sylvie Testelin, who were responsible for the first face transplant.
Throughout Ms Anavekar’s surgical career, she has maintained a keen interest in research, having published numerous articles in plastic surgical journals, as well as textbook chapters. Ms Anavekar strongly believes in complementing knowledge with compassion, and is committed to providing a comprehensive service to her patients with a personalised approach.
Ms Anavekar is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, transport accidents, public liability matters and total and permanent disability. Ms Anavekar can also assist with complex case discussion, medical negligence, telemedicine assessment and file review.
