Dr Shivonne Prasad is a Melbourne-based respiratory and sleep physician specialising in asthma, allergic rhinitis, occupational lung disease and sleep medicine. She is currently appointed Sleep and Respiratory Physician at The Alfred Hospital and Eastern Health and consults privately at Cabrini Health and Ferntree Gully.
Dr Prasad completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Auckland. During physician training Dr Prasad completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. During specialist physician training Dr Prasad continued to add to her medical studies, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education 2014 and a Certificate in Clinical Occupational Medicine from Monash University in 2017.
Dr Shivonne Prasad undertook additional training in occupational lung disease at Toronto Western and St Michael’s Hospitals in Toronto, Canada in 2018. Through completing this work, Dr Prasad obtained important insight into diagnosing and managing work-related respiratory illnesses.
Dr Prasad continues to provide valuable insights into respiratory and sleep conditions, publishing research articles and papers.
Dr Prasad is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, public liability matters, total permanent disability and medical negligence claims. Dr Prasad is available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
