Dr Patricia Bastick is an accomplished medical oncologist with over 15 years of experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors. Her expertise lies in the treatment of breast and genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, testicular, and kidney cancers. Dr Bastick is also an experienced medicolegal consultant, providing opinions since 2014.
She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Tasmania in 1999 and obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2008. Additionally, Dr Bastick holds a Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, completing the Company Directors course in 2022.
Currently, Dr Bastick serves as a senior medical oncologist at St George and Sutherland Hospitals in Sydney, and holds the position of Medical Director at Southside Cancer Care Centre and St George Oncology Associates. She has been actively involved in clinical trials, contributing as an investigator for over 60 international phase I, II, and III trials.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Bastick is engaged in various leadership roles within the medical community. She is the NSW state director of Private Cancer Physicians Australia and serves as the deputy chair of the Germ Cell Subcommittee for ANZUP. Furthermore, she is a non-executive board director of Cancer Care Associates. She is a clinical consultant in the Healthtech space.
Dr Bastick is also recognised for her expertise in medicolegal consultation, providing detailed medical negligence reports for legal cases related to cancer diagnoses, treatments, and prognoses for the past decade. She possesses strong communication skills, enabling her to effectively bridge complex medical information with legal understanding.
