Dr Laksh Markuli is based at the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital undertaking the roles of Senior Staff Specialist and Co-Director of Emergency Medicine Training. Dr Markuli is also engaged as Visiting Medical Officer at the Auburn Hospital in their Emergency Department.
Dr Markuli began his medical studies in India, being awarded with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Mysore. He then went on to complete a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mysore, before furthering his medical training in Australia. Dr Markuli completed his training across well-respected metro and regional New South Wales institutions, being awarded his Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine in 2013. Dr Markuli has additionally had an active career in medical administration developing models of care, department policies, and procedures and steering emergency department accreditation. This is all underpinned by his Masters in Health Management and, most recently, becoming an Associate fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
The role of teaching and training future generations is of high significance to Dr Markuli, as he embraces his position as Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and the University of Western Sydney. He is also a fellowship examiner and inspector for the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine and an Australian Medical Council clinical examiner.
Dr Lakshmeesh Markuli is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, and medical negligence claims. Dr Markuli is available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
