Expanding Your Options: Introducing Azure’s Latest Orthopaedic Surgeons

In the medicolegal world, the importance of having clinically active specialists is paramount. Specialists with a wealth of up-to-date knowledge and experience are held in high regard as they bring their expertise to each medicolegal assessment. Currency means that they come with a fresh mindset and new ideas, bringing innovation from their workspace into medicolegal assessments.  

Over the past few months, Azure has onboarded many new specialists, including several orthopaedic surgeons. We’re delighted to welcome Dr Kerian Robinson, Dr Nathan Anderson and Dr Simon Lau to our expert panel.

Dr Kerian Robinson is an orthopaedic surgeon with a specific interest in hip, knee and trauma surgery. He completed his education at Monash University in Melbourne and has completed training at numerous hospitals throughout Victoria. Currently, Dr Robinson is undertaking further training in robotic hip replacement. Through clinical lecturing for medical students at Monash University as well as  Melbourne University and contributing to numerous research projects throughout his career, Dr Robinson has an extensive wealth of knowledge which he continuously expands. Dr Nathan Anderson is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the spine, spinal surgery and spinal disorders. He has a range of experience including spinal tumors, spinal trauma, disc prolapse, adult scoliosis correction as well as lumbar and cervical degenerative disease. Dr Anderson completed his studies at Melbourne University. He was awarded the RM Biggins Prize for Clinical Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Howard Award for Excellence at St Patrick’s College. Dr Anderson is frequently publishing research papers in the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine and the ANZ Journal of Surgery, constantly learning and enhancing his skillset. Dr Anderson has completed AMA4 training in core, lower limb, upper limb, spine and dermatology. More information on Dr Anderson can be found here. 

Dr Simon Lau is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in shoulder, elbow and wrist surgery, including but not limited to shoulder joint replacement using 3D templating software, patient-specific instrumentation and keyhole surgery. Dr Lau began his studies at Melbourne University and continued to his Masters at the University of London. His fellowship was completed in Geelong under Prof Richard Page with further experience working in Switzerland under Prof Christian Gerber and Prof Karl Wiesner at a world class center in surgery of the shoulder. Through working across hospitals in Melbourne, including the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peninsula Health, Dr Lau has a significant amount of experience. Currently, Dr Lau is also a consultant upper limb surgeon at Victorian Bone and Joint Specialists. He has completed AMA4 training in core, lower limb, upper limb, spine and dermatology.
