Dr Brett Frenkiel is a Victorian-trained specialist sport and exercise medicine physician who has a special interest in all musculoskeletal injuries. Located in metro Melbourne, Dr Frenkiel is currently operating as a Specialist Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician at Epworth Sport and Exercise Medicine Group. He is also Chief Medical Officer for the St Kilda Football Club and has acted as a medical consultant for the V8 Supercars & Australian motorsports.
Dr Frenkiel graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Bond University. Dr Frenkiel has completed a Master of Surgery at Monash University, graduating with First Class Honours. Finally, Dr Frenkiel obtained his fellowship with the Australasian College of Sport & Exercise Physicians, with extensive experience across multiple sporting teams throughout Australia, both in domestic and international professional competitions.
Dr Frenkiel has a strong interest in sports medicine, contributing to multiple publications concerning supplements in sports, and making presentations on concussions in a sporting context.
Dr Frenkiel is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, transport accidents, public liability matters, total permanent disability and medical negligence claims. Dr Frenkiel is available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
