Ms Hocking is an experienced Occupational Therapist and has been practising since 2005. Following completion of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, she obtained a Master of Health Science, specialising in Stroke Management. She has also completed the Occupational Therapy Driving Assessment Course.
Ms Hocking’s early career commenced at Peninsula Health, where she gained experienced working across a range of sites, including in the acute hospital setting, rehabilitation, and in community rehabilitation. Ms Hocking developed the early supported discharge program for stroke patients to allow them to leave the hospital setting early, one of only two programs in Victoria at the time. This program demonstrated the impact Occupational Therapy can make in people’s lives when providing the required services in their home and community environments.
Ms Hocking joined Community Occupational Therapy in 2013, and has developed skills in the private sector, with an excellent understanding of the compensable systems from which many of her clients are referred. She maintains a varied caseload of orthopaedic, neurological, spinal, disability and aged clients.
Ms Hocking specialises in upper limb rehabilitation, minor and major home modifications, equipment prescription and driver assessment and rehabilitation.
