Dr Prashanth Ramachandran is a Melbourne Based Clinical Neurologist with specialities in neuroinflammatory conditions resulting from infections, autoimmune diseases and genetic conditions. Dr Ramachandran has a particular interest in helping patients with complex conditions.
Dr Ramachandran begun his education at Monash University where he obtained his Honors in BMedSci and MBBS. He went on to intern and then complete training for 6 years at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Darwin Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Dr Ramachandran received his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and then conducted his clinical research fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He continued his education and received his PhD at Melbourne University.
Dr Ramachandran holds multiple teaching positions, contributed to many books, publications and research papers.
Dr Ramachandran is currently working clinically as a Consultant Neurologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He currently is also working as a Clinical Metagenomics Research Fellow at The Department of Infectious Diseases at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.
