A/prof Marc Sarossy is an ophthalmologist, working as Head of the Ocular Diagnostic Clinic at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) and in private ophthalmological practice. He is a comprehensively trained clinical ophthalmologist, scientist, manager and academic. He has extensive experience in the design, oversight, and monitoring of clinical trials in both drug and device development. He has headed the electrophysiology unit of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospitals (RVEEH) for a decade and has developed novel techniques in the comprehensive assessment of visual function.

A/Prof Sarossy obtained his medical degree from The University of New South Wales in 1989 with first class honours, completing his ophthalmology training in Victoria and gaining his specialist qualification as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 1997. He has held senior positions within the RVEEH as well as in the private sector. He completed his PhD from the University of Melbourne on the electrophysiology of glaucoma.

A/Prof Sarossy is heavily involved in research and is a reviewer for multiple ophthalmology journals. He is an Editorial Board Member of the journal Eye and a member of the International Society for the Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision. A/Prof Sarossy has academic research appointments at the Centre for Eye Research Australia and RMIT University and teaches at the Melbourne Medical School at the University of Melbourne.
