Mr John Swan is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon located in Melbourne, specialising in shoulder and lower limb surgery. Mr Swan completed his undergraduate medical studies at The University of Melbourne in 2005, then went on to complete both a Diploma of Surgical Anatomy and Master of Surgery by Research. In 2010, The University of Melbourne presented Mr Swan with The Gordon Taylor Scholarship for his outstanding contribution to research. In 2017, Mr Swan completed orthopaedic training across a number of Victorian and New South Wales institutions. During his international fellowship, Mr Swan trained with Dr Johannes Barth in Grenoble and Professor Sebastien Lustig and Professor Elvire Servien in Lyon, France.
Mr Swan has been dedicated to research throughout his medical career, publishing multiple papers on knee arthroscopy, knee replacement and shoulder surgery. Mr Swan has also written multiple book chapters, shaping the medical landscape for future generations.
In his downtime, Mr John Swan also enjoys some fast-paced recreational activities including motorsports, road cycling and alpine skiing.
