Dr Stewart Morrison is an orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in limb reconstruction, deformity correction, limb lengthening, paediatric orthopaedics, adult joint arthroplasty and paediatric musculoskeletal oncology. He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University, before completing the orthopaedic training program. He then obtained a Post Graduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Morrison has undertaken an Orthopaedic Paediatric Fellowship at Olgahospital, Klinikum Stuttgart, Germany, and the ACGME Adult Reconstruction Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of Minnesota, and Gillette Children’s Speciality Healthcare, USA. Dr Morrison is a member of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Dr Morrison is currently appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Victorian Orthopaedic Centre and Monash Health in Melbourne.
Dr Morrison has an active role in research with ongoing research on malignant bone tumours and limb lengthening and arthroplasty. He has extensively published in international journals on limb lengthening and deformity correction. Dr Morrison has presented on Syme amputations, humeral lengthening at the Limb Lengthening, and Reconstruction Society Annual Meeting in Boston.
Dr Morrison has served on the Board of Directors for the Victorian Doctors Health Program and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the Operating with Respect Expert Reference Group. Dr Morrison maintains current continuing professional development certification.
Dr Morrison has German language skills, having completed his Paediatric Fellowship in Stuttgart entirely in German. He has successfully obtained a B2 Certification (Goethe Institut) and C1 Level Fachsprachenprüfung Niveau (Landesärztekammer Baden-Württemberg).
Dr Morrison is available for appointments for independent medical examination, TAC matters, work-related injuries, complex case discussion, medical negligence opinions and file review.
